Pivotal Systems Strengthens Strategic Ties with the Malaysian State of Johor to Continue Its Southeast Asia Expansion

Fremont, CA — June 3, 2026 —

Pivotal Systems Corporation met again with YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, Menteri Besar of Johor, and his senior leadership team at his official Malaysia government residence. He comes from a family with a long political legacy in Malaysia including being the great-grandson of the first Menteri Besar of Johor and the grandson of Malaysia’s third Prime Minister.

The onsite visit served as a return engagement following the Johor Chief Minister’s visit to the Pivotal Systems Fremont headquarters last year, underscoring the strong distinctive partnership between Pivotal and the Malaysia state of Johor.

Both parties discussed opportunities to further expand the Pivotal presence in Malaysia, with an emphasis on the strategic geographic location of Johor, being in closer proximity to some of the key customers for Pivotal. Johor leadership reiterated its Malaysian state status as a strategic hub for advanced semiconductor manufacturing having already attracted significant foreign direct investment. Key areas of the discussion also included potential for investment initiatives, government incentives, and fully dedicated senior-level support from state agencies to further expedite the industrial operations in Malaysia for the long-term.

The discussions served to better align the objectives from the key stakeholders in supporting the long-term government goals under Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030. Pivotal Systems continues to evaluate opportunities to expand its manufacturing and servicing capabilities as part of its continuing expansion plans in Malaysia by accelerating the adoption of AI and automation, establishing a regional R&D center, and driving local talent upskilling in partnership with local government and academic institutions within the next four years.
